What am I currently working on, you ask?
(Expected Release: September 2027)
When I Found Her is the first novel in a new paranormal romance duology that blends the emotional realities of contemporary life with the mystery and intrigue of the supernatural.
Currently in its early stages, this novel represents an exciting new direction in my writing as I explore the intersection between romantic fiction, neurodivergence, human connection, and the unexplained. The story follows a young woman who has spent much of her life learning how to survive on her own. Living with ADHD and autism, which she carefully conceals from the world, she struggles to navigate everyday life while experiencing episodes she believes are caused by narcolepsy. Fiercely independent and reluctant to trust others, she has become skilled at hiding her vulnerabilities behind a carefully constructed exterior. But beneath that exterior is someone who longs to be understood without having to explain or defend every part of herself.
Her carefully controlled world begins to unravel when a mysterious man takes an unexpected interest in her. He is equally guarded, carrying secrets from his past and avoiding the emotional connections he has spent years convincing himself he no longer needs. Yet something about this unusual, overwhelming, and occasionally frustrating young woman draws him in. Her presence awakens memories and feelings he thought he had left behind, suggesting that their connection may be rooted in something far more extraordinary than either initially understands.
As their relationship develops, the boundaries between the familiar world and the supernatural begin to blur. What first appears to be an unlikely romance gradually reveals deeper mysteries surrounding their lives, their pasts, and the forces that may have brought them together.
At its heart, When I Found Her explores what it means to be different in a world that often expects conformity. Through the protagonist's experiences, I hope to portray the emotional exhaustion of masking neurodivergence, the difficulty of trusting others, and the desire to be loved without having to become someone else. - Stay tuned!
